Poroshenko: Ukrainian troops will remain in their positions

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces will not withdraw troops from the positions taken earlier.
He said this in an interview with the BBC.
When asked by HARDtalk presenter Stephen Sackur whether the Ukrainian leadership is ready to withdraw troops from their positions in accordance with “Putin’s plan,” Poroshenko said: “We are not talking about the withdrawal of our troops, because it is our territory.”
“We are in no way talking about a danger to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of my country,” he said.
Poroshenko said that when he was elected president, terrorists controlled a considerable portion of land in Donbas. “Now the territory they control has shrunk by about two-thirds. And this is the direct success of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” he said.
