Poroshenko to discuss Sakvarelidze`s return to PGO with new PG

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is planning to discuss with the new Prosecutor General the reinstatement of the dismissed Deputy Prosecutor General Davit Sakvarelidze and his team, Sakvarelidze said in an interview with the Ukrainian news magazine Novoe Vremya after his meeting with the president.
”The President said that nothing had changed in our relationship, and my dismissal was not agreed with him. The President said that he would talk with the new Prosecutor General to reinstate us in office,” Sakvarelidze said.
With regard to the Prosecutor General, Sakvarelidze is not going to stand as a candidate: ”I do not apply for this position, I have commented several times on this issue.”
As UaPosition reported earlier, on March 29, Deputy Prosecutor General Davit Sakvaralidze was dismissed from the prosecution bodies, as well as brought to disciplinary responsibility for the ”gross violation of prosecutorial ethics.”
Later, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to grant consent to the dismissal by President Petro Poroshenko of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.
