Poroshenko signs decree dissolving Verkhovna Rada

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree dissolving the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation and holding of early parliamentary elections on October 26.
The document is dated August 27 and published on the website of the Head of state.
“Stop powers of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation ahead of time. Approve early parliamentary elections in Ukraine on October 26, 2014,” the document says.
The Cabinet was instructed to provide funding of elections.
The decree takes effect from the date of publication.
Earlier, the CEC said that the campaign could start on August 28, when a decree dissolving the Rada is published on August 27.
