Poroshenko: Minsk agreements are also political dialogue

The Minsk agreements on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas should be fulfilled by all parties in deeds, not in words.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko told this to journalists in Chisinau on Thursday.
“The Minsk agreements are not only an immediate ceasefire and immediate release of hostages, the closure of borders for foreign troops, but also a political dialogue that will help hold free elections in Donbas, in accordance with Ukrainian legislation,” the presidential press service quoted him as saying.
The president thanked the world, especially G7 and European partners, for supporting Ukraine. He said that there could be many formats of talks on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas: Normandy, Weimar, Visegrad, and other formats that allow different countries to show solidarity with Ukraine and assist the country in these difficult times.
But the most important thing, according to the president, is “to fulfill the Minsk not in words but in deeds.”
If there are no positive changes, the effect of sanctions should be extended, he said.
