Poroshenko, Merkel discuss format of further negotiations after Minsk

Further format for talks after a meeting of the Ukraine-EU-??Eurasian Troika in Minsk was discussed during a telephone conversation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The press service of the President informs.
“Petro Poroshenko and Angela Merkel discussed further international format for negotiations, including the possibility of continuing in the Norman or the Geneva format to work on the peaceful settlement by results of the Minsk meeting,” a statement reads.
The President of Ukraine described the results of the multilateral meeting in Minsk as a positive signal that can give rise to a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas. Among them – finding common approaches to control the border, concrete steps on the release of hostages, building a dialogue on trade relations.
The parties agreed that the logic of the peace plan by President Poroshenko found support among participants in Minsk. The vision set out in the peace plan, according to interlocutors, can be a basis for practical steps for de-escalation to be offered in the near future, particularly for work of the tripartite working group with Donbas representatives.
