Poroshenko grants Ukrainian citizenship to candidate for post of deputy interior minister

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree granting Ukrainian citizenship to Ekaterina Zguladze, a candidate for the post of Ukraine’s first deputy interior minister.
The head of state wrote this on his Twitter page.
“I have signed a decree granting Ukrainian citizenship to a candidate for the post of first deputy interior minister – Ms. Zguladze. As president I hope that Ekaterina Zguladze’s unique role in government will help reform a Soviet-type interior ministry system into the European one,” he said.
As reported, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov asked the president to grant Ukrainian citizenship to Georgian national Ekaterina Zguladze.
He also said that once Zguladze obtains Ukrainian citizenship, he will immediately sign an order on her appointment as deputy interior minister.
