Poroshenko discusses Minsk, sanctions, visas with Merkel and Hollande

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has held a telephone conversation with French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to the Ukrainian presidential administration.
Poroshenko pointed to ongoing violations of the ceasefire by Russian-backed militants in eastern Ukraine, which impedes the political settlement of the Donbas crisis.
The parties agreed that such issues as security and restoration of Ukraine`s control over the border with Russia are very important.
They also reaffirmed that sanctions against Russia over Donbas should remain in force until the full implementation of the Minsk peace agreement.
The parties also agreed to step up the Minsk talks.
What is more, Poroshenko called on Hollande and Merkel to accelerate EU visa-free travel for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president in particular asked his French counterpart to help solve the problem Ukrainian football fans have been experiencing with getting visas for visiting the Euro 2016 matches in France.
