Poroshenko convenes heads of factions: they will speak about martial law and elections

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will discuss possibility of imposing martial law in Donbas with heads of parliamentary factions.
Leader of the Batkivshchyna faction Serhiy Sobolev told a briefing following the Conciliation Council in the parliament, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We discussed an issue on imposing the martial law today, which was raised by actually all heads of factions and groups. And at today’s meeting with the President at 17:00 we will continue this conversation on possibility of imposing martial law and the change of the election system, because only this can legitimize next parliament, which should be elected as soon as possible,” Sobolev said.
According to him, this system will not allow “next “Strelkovs” (Igor Strelkov-Girkin, leader of terrorists in Donbas), terrorists, Yanukovych’s team, but will enable to really renew the parliament membership.”
At the same time, Sobolev said that people’s deputies at this plenary week will consider the draft laws on support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “Direct Russian invasion to the territory of Ukraine, when regular units, not mercenaries, about whom Putin spoke earlier, actually makes to respond to events very quickly, which took place in the framework of the antiterrorist operation,” he said.
