Poland unwilling to intervene in Donbas war

Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz does not support calls by the opposition to intervene in the fighting in Donbas so that Poland could help Ukraine win the war, the Yevropeiska Pravda online newspaper has reported, citing Polish Radio.
“The persuasion that we took part in the war and win the war for Ukraine quite surprises me,” Kopacz said.
In her opinion, Poland should only act politically.
“The duty of Polish politics is to win peace for Ukraine. Believe me, Ukrainian themselves now want only peace in their state,” she said.
The opposition Law and Justice party urges Poland to strengthen its activity in Ukraine and to show greater initiative.
