PGO calls on int`l organizations to pay attention to conditions of detention of Ukrainian POWs

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko has called on international human rights organizations to pay attention to the conditions of detention of Ukrainian POWs in the occupied territory of Donbas, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
”Recently, we have heard a number of statements by international human rights agencies and international organizations concerning problems with their (”DPR-LPR” representatives`) detention, so we started off by checking the detention center in Kyiv,” Lutsenko said during an unscheduled inspection of the detention center of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine with the participation of Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Valeria Lutkovska and SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak.
”We would also like to appeal to international human rights organizations so that they pay attention just as objectively to the conditions of detention of Ukrainian POWs, because they are held in the dungeons of mines, other kinds of torture chambers, where the conditions are far from these,” Lutsenko said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan  Simonovic at a briefing in Kyiv, during the presentation of the 14th report of the UN Monitoring Mission on the human rights situation in Ukraine, talked of hundreds of cases of torture both on the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine and on the government-controlled territory.
