OSCE reports civilian casualties in Donbas: 21 killed, 95 injured in 2017

Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine Alexander Hug has reported about civilian casualties in the war in eastern Ukraine, saying 21 civilians were killed and 95 were injured since the beginning of the current year, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

”Violence comes with human cost: since January 1, the SMM has confirmed 116 civilian casualties: 21 fatalities and 95 injuries,” he said at a briefing on Thursday, March 30.

This would not have happened if no weapons had been there, he added.

As was reported earlier, the OSCE SMM registered at least 3,930 explosions from multiple rocket launchers, artillery systems and mortars last week alone.
