NSDC introduces strict regime of control on border with occupied territories

Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), after an attempt on the lives of MPs in Kyiv, is planning to significantly strengthen controls at crossing points on the border with occupied territories.
NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said this on Thursday.
In his opinion, it is currently necessary “to block any possibility of the penetration of terrorist and subversive groups from the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and Crimea.”
“The number of checkpoints through defensive lines will be reduced, and anyone who crosses them will be closely checked, whereas any bypasses will be completely closed,” Turchynov said.
