NSDC denies reports of airstrike on Donetsk

The National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) denies reports that Donetsk was hit by an airstrike on Tuesday.
National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.
“The Ukrainian aviation does not make air strikes on cities,” Lysenko said.
According to him, reports of local residents about the buzz of the plane can be explained by the fact that this was an airborne relay aircraft, which provides communication between the ATO headquarters and remote units. “This is an airborne relay aircraft, which constantly varies the route of flight, so as not to be shot down. People could hear it buzzing in the air,” Lysenko said.
At the same time he could not explain what weapon destroyed the central part of the city. “It may be their howitzer, it can be the “Grad”- whatever. Terrorists now use heavy weapons to bombard Ukrainian troops, and the city, they even from Russia shell the settlements with Grad multiple rocket launchers,” Lysenko emphasized.
