No IMF tranche for Ukraine by year-end: National Bank of Ukraine expects money in early 2017

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) hopes that the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will hold another meeting at the beginning of next year, resulting in obtaining the next tranche of the loan from the IMF being also possible at the beginning of the year, NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva said at a briefing.

”We will not get this tranche this year, but we hope that early next year we will see a meeting of the Board of Directors, and we will get the tranche in January and February. I cannot say exactly, but we hope that it will happen at the beginning of next year,” Gontareva said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the NBU noted the risks to price stability in raising the minimum wage, political tensions and a high probability of a delay of the next tranche of the International Monetary Fund.
