Newly appointed Prosecutor General Lutsenko becomes NSDC member

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has included newly appointed Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko in the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), according to presidential decree No. 212 of May 16.
”I order to make Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko (by consent) member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,” the document says.
In addition, Viktor Hvozd, who was dismissed from the position of the Foreign Intelligence Service`s chief on April 29, was removed from the NSDC under a presidential order.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 12, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine`s parliament, voted to appoint Yuriy Lutsenko, the head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc`s parliamentary faction, as prosecutor general. The president signed a respective document on Lutsenko`s appointment immediately after the voting.
