Netherlands to discuss referendum`s results on Ukraine Association at EU summit

Dutch delegation wants to discuss at the upcoming EU summit June 28-29 possible solutions to the situation that has developed over the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement considering a negative stance voiced by of the Dutch voters in the referendum, an UNIAN correspondent in Brussels reports.
Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Bert Koenders wrote a letter to the Dutch Parliament, saying that the government intended to discuss the Association Agreement and the results of the referendum at the EU summit on June 28-29, according to an UNIAN correspondent citing its source familiar with the matter.
According to the minister, the Netherlands have already discussed the Dutch ”No” both at the European and at the bilateral level, but there no agreement had been reached on a possible solution.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on April 6, the Netherlands held a consultative referendum on the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement. 61% of the votes were cast against the agreement with 38.21% of the voters supporting it. The turnout was 32.28%.
On April 14, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte said that a decision on the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU would not be taken until late June.
