Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valeriya Gontareva held his first meeting with newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Ernst Wolfgang Reichel to discuss the macroeconomic situation in Ukraine, the progress of the banking sector reform implementation and the regulator`s steps aimed at relaxing foreign exchange restrictions, the NBU posted on Facebook.
The two parties also discussed Ukraine`s progress in the fight against corruption and the promotion of other reforms essential for the country`s development, and agreed to cooperate closely to strengthen Ukrainian-German ties in the financial sector.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 1, 2016, newly appointed German Ambassador to Ukraine Ernst Wolfgang Reichel presented copies of his credentials to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the European Integration Olena Zerkal.
