NBU expects to raise UAH 12 bln from selling insolvent banks` assets

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) plans to raise up to UAH 12 billion this year from selling assets pledged as collateral for NBU refinancing loans that have been disbursed for insolvent banks, according to NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva.
This statement she made after the ceremony of signing a memorandum of cooperation between the National Bank, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund and Transparency International Ukraine in the field of insolvent banks` assets sale.
”We hope that the memorandum signed will make asset sale procedures more transparent, and we will be able to raise up to UAH 12 billion this year alone from the sale of insolvent banks` assets,” Gontareva said.
