The National Bank of Ukraine on Thursday evening lowered the official hryvnia exchange rate by nine kopiykas, bringing the national currency to UAH 25.17 to the dollar.
The Central Bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies for August 19:
$100 costs UAH 2,517.0910 (on August 18, it was UAH 2,508.8661);
EUR 100 costs UAH 2,849.5987 (on August 18, it was UAH 2,828.9974);
10 RUB costs UAH 3.9609 (on August 18, it was UAH 3.9205).
On Thursday, August 18, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market by the close of trade settled at UAH 25.18/25.23 to the dollar.
Hryvnia quotes against the euro settled at UAH 28.4960/28.5500, while those against the Russian ruble settled at UAH 0.3940/0.3960.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the weighted average exchange rate of the hryvnia as of 17:00 was UAH 25.1709 to the dollar, with 557 deals concluded by this time worth a total of $403.11 million.
