The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has provided application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against individuals involved in the organization, illegal detention and imprisonment in the Russian Federation of Ukrainian citizens Nadia Savchenko, Oleh Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko.
According to the regulator`s decree No. 276, the National Bank ordered banks to provide within three days information on bank accounts and balances of 84 individuals listed in the annexes to the relevant decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), entered into force by presidential decree.
In addition, the regulator ordered banks to provide information each month on the balances in these accounts and attempts to conduct financial transactions by the persons mentioned in the sanctions list, as well as on transactions for the benefit of such individuals.
The National Bank notes that the restrictive measures in respect of these persons have been clearly stated in the decision of the NSDC individually.
The regulator also reminded that a procedure for the implementation of the NSDC`s sanctions by the banking system was developed in October 2015, and assured that it controlled their strict implementation by the banking system.
