NATO supports international sanctions against Russia – summit decision

NATO countries have expressed support for the international efforts to introduce restrictive measures against Russia due to its military aggression with regard to Ukraine.
This is stated in a joint declaration of the NATO summit, which ended in Wales on Friday, Ukrinform’s correspondent reported.
“While Russia continues to intervene militarily, arm separatists, and foment instability in Ukraine, we support the sanctions imposed by the European Union (EU), the G7, and others, which are an essential part of the overall international effort to address the destabilizing behavior of Russia,” said the results of the summit heads of state governments and countries.
NATO said that effective EU sanctions included limited access to capital markets for Russian state-owned financial institutions, restricted trade in arms, the establishment of restrictions for export of dual use goods for military end uses, and the curtailment of Russian access to sensitive defense and energy sector technologies.
