Naftogaz: Gazprom`s claims over ”take-or-pay” condition could reach $60 bln

Naftogaz Business Development Director Yuriy Vitrenko says Russian gas monopoly Gazprom may claim from National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine $60 billion in line with the contract`s ”take-or-pay” condition.
”Gazprom`s main demand to Naftogaz is a payment for the so-called `take-or-pay` condition. Its claims have already reached $31.4 billion … If we look into [gas] the volumes of import we need in the future (until the expiry of the contract with Gazprom), we will see that Gazprom`s claims may additionally increase by $29.5 billion,” Vitrenko told reporters.
