Nafta buys 50% in Uzhgorod gas field from American Cub Energy

Slovak gas company Nafta has acquired a 50% stake in the Uzhgorod gas field from U.S. Cub Energy Inc., which has assets in Ukraine, as was reported by Cub Energy.
The cost of the purchase has been estimated at EUR 1.5 million, according to Cub Energy.
Nafta International B.V. (the Netherlands), the subsidiary of Slovakia`s Nafta, acquired 50% in CNG Holdings Netherlands B.V., which holds 100% of CNG LLC, the holder of the license to develop the Uzhgorod gas field.
Cub Energy said that Nafta will fund a 100 square kilometer 3D seismic survey within 20 months after closing the deal. The drilling of three wells is planned within four years. The company announced it will fund the tie-in costs to a maximum EUR 200,000 per well.
UNIAN`s memo. Cub Energy Company is one of the five largest oil and gas operators in Ukraine. It is the 30% owner of Ukrainian oil and gas company KUB-Gas, which developed five gas fields in the Dnieper-Donets basin. It also owns Tisagas, which holds four gas licenses to develop Rusko-Komarivske, Stanovske, the Korolivske gas fields and the Uzhgorod block.
NAFTA is the leading company in Slovakia for exploration and production of hydrocarbons, which also has extensive experience in the development and operation of underground gas storage facilities. NAFTA operates gas storage facilities that have a capacity of 2.4 billion cubic meters.
