More casualties among Ukraine troops as militants continue fierce shelling

A Ukrainian soldier was killed and another two were wounded as pro-Russian militants mortared the positions of the Anti-Terrorist Operation forces in Popasna district in Donbas.
”Tonight, the terrorists shelled the villages of Novozvanivka and Troitske in Popasna district from 82mm mortars. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One soldier was killed and another two were wounded,” reads the statement.
In the past 24 hours, the general situation in the ATO zone remained tense. A total of 44 episodes of shelling of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was recorded, with 19 among them – in the Donetsk and Mariupol directions and another six – in Luhansk direction, the ATO HQ reported on Facebook.
It was hot in Mariupol direction, in the vicinity of the village of Krasnohorivka where he terrorists, in a breach of the Minsk agreements, covered our positions four times with 82mm and 120mm mortar fire and used tanks twice. The strongholds near Talakivka, Shyrokine and Lebedynske also came under mortar fire, while the positions near Vodiane and Maryinka were fired upon from machine guns and grenade launchers.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy was shooting at our troops in the area of Zaitseve, Novhorodske and Avdiyivka, using weapons of different types. In addition, checkpoints near Avdiyivka, Nevelske and Putilovska (Butivka) coalmine were shelled by the Russian occupants from mortars of various calibers. Somewhere around midnight, the enemy was firing from a 122mm self-propelled gun near Nevelske.
”In some cases, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were forced to return fire,” said the HQ.
As reported earlier, the Donbas terrorists on Satruday shelled 20 times the strongholds of the Ukrainian fighters.
