The effectiveness of the European Union’s foreign and security policy depends on the successful resolution of the situation in eastern Ukraine.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said this on Wednesday during a debate in the European Parliament, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
She said that not only the success in resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine, but also the EU support that should be provided for Ukraine to implement internal reforms is a significant part of the success of the EU foreign and security policy.
In this regard, she added that the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga will be an important event for reconsidering relations with the EU eastern neighbors, as well as for the development of the European Neighbourhood Policy.
As reported on January 15, the European Parliament intends to vote on resolution on the situation in Ukraine.
