Mingarelli to become new EU ambassador to Ukraine – media

Hughes Mingarelli will reportedly become Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, according to the Europeiska Pravda news portal.
”The European External Action Service has finally decided on a candidate who will replace Jan Tombinski as head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine,” Europeiska Pravda reports.
The head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine will be changed as part of a planned reshuffle. At the same time, Tombinski will depart from Kyiv to another European country.
Tombinski has been working in Ukraine for four years since the summer of 2012.
His predecessor, Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, held the post in 2008-2012, Ian Boag headed the EU Delegation to Ukraine in 2004-2008.
It is known that Mingarelli was at the forefront of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. Mingarelli was a chief negotiator on behalf of the EU on a ”new enhanced agreement” with Ukraine until the end of 2010. However, the Italian diplomat was among those who for some time did not want to use the term ”association” in the title of the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
