Miller: Gazprom not to change terms of gas agreement of 2009

Russian gas monopolist OAO Gazprom has refused to change the terms of the contract for the supply of Russian gas to Ukraine, signed in 2009 for a period of ten years.
This has been stated by Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller, the press service of the company informs.
“Gazprom has cooperated and will go on cooperating with Ukraine in accordance with the existing contracts for gas supply and transit,” Miller stated.
He reminded that the agreements on the ‘winter package’ of gas supply to Ukraine had been reached in Brussels on October 30. In particular, the ‘winter package’ offers a temporary discount of USD 100 per one thousand cubic meters of gas.
“The discount was granted by the Russian Federation Government. At the same time, the ‘winter package’ is fully based on the terms and conditions of the existing contract for gas supply to Ukraine. The ‘winter package’ will expire on March 31, 2015. On April 1 Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine will proceed with their activities according to the contract,” Gazprom CEO said.
