Separatists have violated the terms of the ceasefire over 60 times in the past 24 hours by shelling Ukrainian positions with artillery systems, mortars, BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers and small arms, the anti-terrorist operation’s press center has reported.
“Bandits fired on our units in Luhansk region near a thermal power plant in Shchastia, as well as in Stanytsia Luhanska, Triokhizbenka, Krymske, and Vilkhove,” reads the statement.
Explosions of artillery and mortar rounds were also heard near Krasnohorivka, Mykolayivka, Pisky and Avdiyivka. The Donetsk airport came under artillery fire as well.
According to the press center, the situation was also tense at checkpoints, strongholds and observation posts near Chornukhyne, Vuhlehirsk, Popasna and Nikishyne. Terrorists repeatedly opened fire on Ukrainian units there.
The anti-terrorist operation forces completed 47 fire missions against militants, the press center said.
