Militants mortar Ukrainian positions in ATO zone

Shelling of positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas by the Russian occupation forces is continuing. 71 attacks were recorded in last day, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation.
”In Mariupol direction, there were 46 attacks, 19 in the Donetsk direction and another six – in the Luhansk direction,” the ATO press center wrote on Facebook.
The report said that the hottest spot was in the Mariupol direction near Shyrokine where 15 attacks on the Ukrainian strongholds were recorded in the last 24 hours, from all types of small arms and mortars of various calibers. Between 20:00 and 21:00, the occupiers used self-propelled artillery three times.
”It was also tense near Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Chermalyk, Lebedynske, and Vodiane where the enemy mortared our strongpoints. The enemy fired from heavy machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems at positions close to Novotroitske, Starohnativka, Pavlopil, and Talakivka. Russian occupiers fired on the positions of the AFU near Novotroitsk from the temporarily occupied Dokuchaivsk, using the self-propelled artillery of a 122mm caliber,” the press center reported.
In the Donetsk direction, the strongpoints nearTroitske, Zaitseve, Maiorsk, and Luhanske came under fire of machine guns and large-caliber automatic grenade launchers. Near Opytne, Peski, and Kirove the enemy used 82mm mortars. In the shelling of Avdiyivka defenders, the enemy used machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, and heavy mortars.
In Luhansk region near Sokolniki, the Ukrainian troops were fired at by the occupiers from small arms, and near Orekhove – from an anti-aircraft gun. In addition, the enemy used machine-guns and automatic grenade launchers trying to hit our positions near Novoaleksandrivka and Popasna.
”The Ukrainian soldiers opened fire only in response to the fire attacks of brazen occupiers,” the press center wrote.
