Militants deny access for OSCE official to prisons with hostages in Donbas – Ukraine envoy

Russian-controlled militants denied access to the OSCE coordinator at the humanitarian subgroup of the Tripartite Liaison Group on Donbas settlement Tony Fish to the prison where hostages are held in the occupied territory of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, according to Iryna Gerashchenko, Ukraine`s representative to the subgroup.
”I want to say that, for example, a coordinator at the humanitarian subgroup visited the occupied territories, and he was not allowed to meet with the hostages,” Gerashchenko told the Ukrainian TV Channel 5.
”There is no explanation to this. Pardon me, but the Ukrainian prisons are available for visits by humanitarian missions so that they could see the conditions, in which those who had violated the law, are held,” said Gerashchenko.
”The prisons in the occupied territories as well as the prisons in the Russian Federation where are political prisoners are held remain closed for the International Committee of the Red Cross, the OSCE, etc.,” said Gerashchenko.
