Militants attack Ukraine 51 times in last day, use grenade launchers in Donetsk sector

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 51 times in the past 24 hours, including 24 times in the Donetsk sector, 24 times in the Mariupol sector, and thrice in the Luhansk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
”In the Donetsk sector, the enemy fired heavy machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Pisky, Berezove, Luhanske and Troyitske, as well as mortars on fortified positions near the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Nevelske, Opytne, Novhorodske and Zaitseve. The militants fired from infantry fighting vehicles near the village of Maiorsk, as well as heavy mortars on the Ukrainian defenders of the Butivka coal mine,” the ATO HQ said in an update as of 06:00 Kyiv time on June 29.
In the Mariupol sector, the Russian-backed mercenaries fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on ATO forces near the villages of Hnutove, Talakivka and Starohnativka, as well as 122mm self-propelled gun mounts near the village of Novotroyitske and twice near the village of Lebedynske. They also fired 82mm and 120mm mortars on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Shyrokyne and the town of Krasnohorivka. The enemy snipers were active near the town of Maryinka.
”In Luhansk region, the enemy fired mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the village of Novozvanivka, as well as small arms and automatic grenade launchers near the village of Krymske and the Crimea and the Zolote entry/exit checkpoint,” the press center said.
