German Chancellor Angela Merkel has invited the other three leaders of the ”Normandy Quartet” – Ukraine, France and Russia – for dinner in Berlin on October 19, that`s according to Russian Ambassador to France Alexander Orlov, who spoke with Europe 1 Radio station on Tuesday, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
”Yes, it is so. Merkel has invited the three leaders of the Normandy format for dinner in Berlin on October 19,” he said.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuriy Ushakov said that the meeting of Normandy Four leaders may take place in Berlin on October 19.
”The meeting is tentatively scheduled for October 19. Berlin was proposed,” he told reporters.
French Foreign Minister also said the leader could meet October 19.
However, a source in the Ukrainian diplomatic circles said that Ukraine did not give consent to take part in the Normandy format summit ”until a road map was agreed, which would include the implementation by Russia of the Minsk security conditions.”
