Medvedev promises to look for compromise on gas with Ukraine

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev instructed Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak to continue negotiations with Ukraine and the EU on the gas problem.
ITAR-TASS informs about this.
“Undoubtedly, it is necessary to continue the search of compromises, it is necessary to continue contacts with understanding that it is necessary to repay the debts, but conditions for Ukraine in such a situation should be rather acceptable, toward this your meeting is now aimed with participation of the European Commission,” he said.
Medvedev confirmed readiness of the Russian Federation to supply gas to Ukraine at USD 385/1,000 cu m, having called this position “favorable” for Ukraine.
