The Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia, a 25-year-old Hennadiy Afanasyev and a 74-year-old Yuriy Soloshenko were in fact exchanged for Odesa journalists Olena Glishchinskaya and Vitaliy Didenko, who had been accused of separatism.
Glischinskaya and Didenko were among the organizers and active participants of the so-called ”People`s Rada of Bessarabia,” according to the Dumskaya newspaper. Head of the SBU Vitaly Hrytsak, this was part of the destabilization plan that Russian security services have started to implement a year ago.
Director of Novaya Volna TV company Glishchinskaya (Romanova) was arrested by the SBU in April last year. Eighteen months ago, while in prison, she gave birth to a boy. In addition, she has two other minor children.
Didenko is a chief editor of the Info Center website, which belongs to the separatist, Anton Davidchenko. During the arrest, Didenko tried to escape from the SBU by jumping from the third floor of the apartment building, receiving numerous fractures.
During the search oh his residence, the law enforcers discovered cocaine.
Didenko was sentenced to three years of imprisonment, while the case is now being appealed.
As UNIAN reported earlier with reference to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian citizens Soloshenko and Afanasiev were already flying to Ukraine, and the exchange was ”completed.”
According to some earlier reports, Soloshenko and Afanasiev had been exchanged for Glishchinskaya and Mefyodov – a Russian citizen, born in the city of Yoshkar-Ola, the capital of the Republic of Mari-El.
