Mariupol sector reportedly hottest spot in Donbas on Wednesday

The Mariupol sector is reported to be the hottest spot in Donbas on Wednesday, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) headquarters.
”The hottest spot today was in the Mariupol sector, where the enemy had been attacking our strongholds near the village of Novotroyitske from 122mm self-propelled artillery systems for almost an hour since midnight. During the night, Russian-backed illegal groups attacked defenders of the village of Novotroyitske four more times, using 82mm and heavy 120mm mortars,” the ATO HQ wrote on Facebook on Wednesday evening.
In total, the enemy attacked Ukraine 15 times on Wednesday, the ATO HQ reported.
Donbas militants also fired 82mm mortars on ATO troops near the village of Pavlopil, while the town of Maryinka came under small arms fire.
ATO forces deployed on the outskirts of the town of Avdiyivka and near Butivka coal mine in the Donetsk sector came under mortar fire. Snipers were active near the village of Leninske and Avdiyivka.
”At 14:00 local time, illegal armed formations opened fire on the Putylivka residential area [belonging to the militant-occupied city of Donetsk] from a self-propelled 122mm artillery system. Militants were firing from the side of the temporarily occupied village of Kruta Balka,” the posting on the Facebook reads.
”This is a new act of provocation by the combined Russian-separatist forces, which is aimed at discrediting Ukraine and its armed forces, and is a gross violation of the existing Minsk agreements,” the ATO HQ said.
