Living wage in 2017 will be increased to USD 65 – Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine

The government will raise the living wage for able-bodied persons in 2017 in three stages – up to UAH 1,762, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andriy Reva said on a conference call about raising the minimum wage from January 1, 2017.

”The living wage for able-bodied persons is set at UAH 1,600 from January 1, 2017, UAH 1,684 from May 1, and UAH 1,762 from December 1,” he said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2016, the minimum wage and living wage for able-bodied population in Ukraine increased from UAH 1,378 to UAH 1,450 from May 1, and to UAH 1,600 from December 1.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law drafted by the Cabinet providing for doubling from January 1, 2017 of the minimum wage to UAH 3,200.
