Leaders at the Minsk talks on the conflict in Ukraine to reach agreement

On February 11, 2015, started the peace talks in Minsk between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and French President Francois Hollande. The meeting has been held through all the night and ended in the morning on February 12.

The negotiations has been continuing more than 12 hours. At first leaders talked tet-a-tet, came out for a joint photo session and then continued in wider format involving full delegations. During the last hours they returned to close format of the meeting.

Leaders try to adopt the official document that will help to establish peace in Eastern Ukraine.

“The negotiations are difficult, but there is hope for success,” – said Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebiynis.

It is still unclear when a decision might be announced and how soon the shooting in real life will stop if an agreement is reached on the paper. The terrorists fired near the populated areas through all the night in Donbas, Eastern Ukraine.

According to U.S. General Hodges, in Russia near the border with Ukraine are concentrated ten Russian battalions.
He also said that Russian forces are operating in the area Debal’tsevo.

“This is evident by the number of uniforms and equipment types, there is a direct Russian military intervention in the region Debal’tsevo” – said General Hodges.

More details about the all-night session aimed at securing cease-fire will be known later.
