Law on sanctions published in Holos Ukrainy

The law on sanctions, which will help take measures of influence on Russia, which committed an act of aggression against Ukraine, has been published in the Verkhovna Rada’s Holos Ukrainy newspaper.
The document has been posted on the website of the newspaper.
As reported, on September 10, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on sanctions and returned it to the Verkhovna Rada.
After signature the law comes into force on the day following its publication.
The law was passed by 242 lawmakers on August 14.
According to the document, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine got the right to block assets, limit trade operations, fully or partly suspend the transit of resources, flights and transportation through Ukraine, prevent the withdrawal of funds, suspend the execution of economic and financial liabilities, and revoke licenses.
Proposals for the use of sanctions will be considered by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine under a motion from the Verkhovna Rada, the president, the Cabinet of Ministers, the National Bank of Ukraine, and the Security Service of Ukraine.
