‘Labor lustration’ to be launched in ten days – Petrenko

The so-called “labor lustration,” which envisages the automatic dismissal of the heads of government and law enforcement agencies who held their positions under ex-President Viktor Yanukovych, will be launched in Ukraine in ten days.
Ukrainian Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko said this at a press conference at the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, Ukrinform’s correspondent reported.
“Labor lustration concerns those who had held senior positions during the regime of Yanukovych. They are subject to dismissal within ten days from the date of entry into force of the law on the cleansing of power,” the official said.
Petrenko said that the heads of government agencies would be tested in their staffing services and then the decision would be made about the possibility of their further work or dismissal with the ban to hold respective positions for ten years.
