Kyivstar suspends work in Crimea

On Monday, armed people broke into the Kyivstar office in Simferopol and started installing their own equipment.
Urgent information of the company reads on its Facebook page.
“They asked Kyivstar workers to remain in the premises and, according to our personnel, started to install their own equipment on the telecommunication equipment of the company. Therefore, Kyivstar, acting in the interests of information security of its subscribers, physical security of the personnel, and the network operation entirety, had to temporarily suspend rendering of communication services in Crimea, excluding by this any unlawful actions, which may have an impact on the network and its security,” a statement reads.
Kyivstar notified about this the National Commission for Regulation of Communication and Informatization, which carries out state regulation in the sphere of communication and informatization of Ukraine and waits for instructions from the Commission as regards further actions.
