Kremlin`s TV channel RT faces Ofcom inquiry – The Times

RT, the Kremlin`s English-language TV channel, is to be investigated for bias after it launched an inaccurate attack on a fracking company, The Times reported.

Ofcom, the regulator, which has upheld 15 breaches of broadcasting rules against the station, known as RT, has announced a fresh investigation, The Times wrote.

Last month The Times reported that an episode of Keiser Report had repeatedly accused Cuadrilla, a British energy company, of dumping poisonous waste off the coast of Africa. There is no truth in the claim. Ofcom will investigate RT for breaching accuracy and impartiality rules.

Russia is believed to be behind attacks on fracking because it fears that the technology could make other nations less reliant on its gas, according to the report.
