Kremlin spokesman names conditions for holding Normandy Four meeting

The Kremlin has said that the work at the ”expert level” is underway to prepare for the meeting of the Normandy Four leaders at the highest level – the Heads of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Friday, according to an UNIAN correspondent in Russia.

”It [the Normandy Four meeting] cannot be ruled out, the work at the expert level is underway. After the necessary conditions are prepared, the final decision will be taken and we will inform you of that,” Peskov said.

The dialogue continues at the expert level and the work is carried out in Minsk, he stressed.

According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday during a telephone conversation expressed satisfaction with the recent agreements on a ceasefire.

”The work is conducted, but still there is an extra homework for the high-level meeting,” Peskov said, and stressed that it was incorrectly to say that the dialogue was interrupted as it was carried out through different channels at different levels.
