Kremlin says Putin, Merkel to continue Donbas settlement in Normandy format

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, according to the Kremlin`s press service.
”Mr Putin and Ms Merkel discussed the situation in Ukraine,” reads the report.
The two leaders put particular focus on the need for the parties to the conflict in Ukraine, which the press service called ”internal,” to respect and implement in full the Minsk agreements of February 12, 2015, according to the report.
”They agreed to continue their political and diplomatic efforts to facilitate a settlement, working above all through the `Normandy format` (Russia, Germany, France, and Ukraine), and through the OSCE.”
As UaPosition reported earlier, U.S. President Barack Obama in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin reminded him that it is necessary for Russia to implement the Minsk agreements.
