Klitschko refuses to serve as MP

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has refused a people’s deputy mandate.
A respective application has already been submitted to the Central Election Commission, Klitschko’s press service reported.
“I have repeatedly stated that I will remain mayor of the capital and that I won’t let down Kyiv’s residents who entrusted me with defending their interests and who expect changes and reforms. By taking responsibility and topping the joint list, I brought to parliament my party members – politicians who will implement people’s expectations not only in Kyiv, but also across the country, and they will work to ensure the necessary reforms,” Klitschko said.
As reported, Klitschko topped the party list of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko at early parliamentary elections.
