Klimkin: Ukraine prepared for possible attack

Ukraine is prepared for a possible attack in the east of the state.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin told this to Bloomberg TV on Thursday.
“We are, of course, prepared, but what we need is de-escalation, real political solution,” Klimkin said, while answering a question about Ukraine’s readiness for an attack.
Klimkin said that the situation in eastern Ukraine was very tense due to the violation of the ceasefire and the holding of illegal elections on November 2.
He also said that if the West allows Ukraine’s losing its eastern part, it would be “the most dangerous mistake” that will lead to the freezing of the conflict and a humanitarian catastrophe “with all ecological and other aspects.”
“In that sense, the sovereignty of Ukraine is not just a precedent, but an absolute goal to ensure security in Europe. And what we need now is a very clear message, from the European Union, from the U.S., from the whole civilized world – to help Ukraine and to assist Ukraine in de-escalating the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk,” Klimkin said.
