Kharkiv armored tank plant quadruplicates output in H1

Kharkiv armored tank plant, which is part of the state-run Ukroboronprom concern, quadruplicated its output in the first half of 2016, year-on-year, according to Ukroboronprom`s press service.

”In the first half of 2016, the plant transferred 25 pieces of armored military hardware to the Armed Forces of Ukraine: 13 T64BV tanks and 12 T-80BV tanks to the tune of UAH 82.3 million,” plant director Oleksandr Hlushko stated.

”This year, the plant has already manufactured four times more tanks for the Ukrainian army than in the same period of 2015 (six tanks worth UAH 12.5 million),” he said.

In addition, the plant`s profit rose by 8% to UAH 2.8 million, while payments to the budget and targeted funds amounted to UAH 19.4 million, up 135% year-on-year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukroboronprom transferred 646 units of new military hardware and equipment to the Ukrainian market in the first half of 2016.

The state-run Ukroboronprom concern was established in 2010 to ensure effective operations and management of state-owned business entities that develop, manufacture, sell, repair, modernize and scrap weapons, military and special equipment and ammunition, and participate in military and technical cooperation. The concern incorporates over a hundred enterprises of Ukraine`s defense industry.
