Interior Minister urges politicians to refrain from speculations over Sheremet`s murder

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has called on the country`s politicians, who have nothing to do with the investigation of the murder of a prominent journalist Pavlo Sheremet, not to disclose any facts and ”clues” of the probe, as well as to refrain from spreading speculations, according to the ministry`s press service.
The minister`s comments came as he was reporting on the developments in the investigation, the press service of the Interior Ministry reported.
According to Avakov, the investigation is being conducted by competent detectives and experts of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department. Experts from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation have also been involved in the probe.
”Every day, I am briefed on the developments, but this information is not for public discourse. If we achieve results – there will be information [published],” said the head of the Interior Ministry.
Earlier, the National Police of Ukraine reported that the working group of 50 experts has been set up to investigate the murder of Pavlo Sheremet.
National Police chief Khatia Dekanoidze reported that the task force was established to investigate the crime.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Sheremet was killed in a car blast in the center of Kyiv July 20. The main version of the investigation is revenge for the journalist`s professional activity.
