Import duty not to apply to essential goods – Jaresko

The import duty on essential commodities will not be introduced.
Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko said this at a briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“We need to stabilize the balance of payments in the budget for 2015, so the answer to this problem is the introduction of a temporary import duty… It is very important for the balance of payments and our budget. The import of essential goods will not be chargeable,” she said.
She noted that the import duty was to be introduced for a period of 12 months.
