IMF First Deputy Managing Director to visit Kyiv

First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) David Lipton is scheduled to visit Kyiv for a meeting of Dutch constituency member-states of the IMF and the World Bank on June 3-5, according to IMF Deputy Spokesperson William Murray said in a briefing on Thursday, June 2.
”First Deputy Managing Director David Lipton is traveling later this week to Kyiv for a meeting of the Dutch constituency on Saturday,” Murray stated.
Murray recalled that the meeting is a regular activity of the two world financial organizations and their senior officials are expected to attend.
The spokesperson noted that the Ukrainian economic challenges are likely to come up during the event. At the same time, the meeting will focus on many topics, not just the situation in Ukraine, according to Murray.
”They discuss recent economic developments within the constituency,” he said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 10, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a plan to prepare the meeting of the IMF and the World Bank member states. The event will be held for the first time in Ukraine. The aim of the meeting is to reinforce coordination of work between the IMF and World Bank member-states on key issues.
