Hungary ready to resume reverse gas supplies to Ukraine on January 1

Hungary is ready to resume reverse gas supplies to Ukraine from January 1, 2015.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said this in Milan on Wednesday before the opening of a summit on employment, according to the official website of the Hungarian government.
“Following the present phase of test operation, the Hungarian-Slovak interconnection gas pipeline will be fully operational as of January 1, 2015 which will guarantee Hungary’s energy supply. We shall also be able to transport non-Russian gas to Ukraine should our Ukrainian friends so desire,” reads the statement.
Orban said that Hungary would follow a common European energy policy. One of the main tasks, he said, is “ensuring [Hungary’s] own energy security and stocking its own storage facilities.”
